Website Migration Cost

Website Migration Cost in India (2026)

A migration is cheap when the site is simple and expensive when nobody knows what depends on it. The difference is rarely the file copy. It is the subdomain nobody listed, the mailbox nobody owned and the redirect nobody mapped before the old host was cancelled.

Website Migration Cost

The quote changes most with what the site depends on, not with how many pages it has. A brochure site with one mailbox is a different job from a shop with a booking subdomain, a payment gateway allowlist and a CRM reading the same domain.

Website migration cost by stage in 2026

Each stage closes with something you can check. A migration priced without these stages usually turns into hourly work the moment the first record is missed.

Migrations are quoted starting from Rs 4,999 for a brochure site moving host with DNS, email records and a redirect map. Shops, member areas and multi-site installations are quoted after the inventory.

StageWhat the stage coversWhat you receive
InventoryCMS and plugins, runtime versions, cron jobs, mailboxes, subdomains, integrationsA dependency list and a written cutover plan
Staging copyFiles, database and media copied to the destination and opened through a temporary nameA working copy nobody can reach by accident
DNS and email cutoverZone export, record recreation, lower TTL, nameserver change in a quiet windowPropagation in minutes and mail that keeps arriving
Redirect mapCrawl of existing URLs, one-to-one 301s, sitemap and canonical checksEvery old address landing on a live page
VerificationForms, checkout, login, certificate, error logs and search coverageA signed checklist and one week of monitoring
What adds cost to a move
01
Commerce. Orders in flight, customer sessions and gateway allowlists need their own test plan.
02
Member areas. Password resets, cookies and session domains have to survive the change.
03
Large URL counts. The redirect map is built and checked address by address.
04
Multiple sites. Each subdomain or installation carries its own dependencies and records.
05
Custom applications. Hard-coded hostnames and scheduled jobs need code changes, not settings.
06
Out-of-hours windows. A cutover at midnight is scheduled work and priced accordingly.
What the Rs 4,999 starting point covers

The entry point assumes one site, one domain, one mailbox set and a manageable URL count. It includes the staging copy, the zone export and recreation, the redirect map and a week of checks after the switch.

It does not assume the destination is already chosen. If hosting still has to be selected, that decision is made before the quote rather than in the middle of the move.

Email, DNS and who pays for what

Record work is inside the fee. Mailbox subscriptions, domain renewals and certificates are billed by their providers, and we do not resell them. Where mail stays with the current provider, the records still have to be recreated at the new DNS host.

That last point is the most common surprise in a cheap migration quote, which is why we ask about mail before quoting at all.

How URL volume changes the redirect stage

A hundred addresses can be mapped by hand and checked in an afternoon. Ten thousand need a crawl, pattern rules and a review of the exceptions, because a lazy wildcard redirect sends every missing page to the home page and loses the ranking signal.

We quote the map from a crawl rather than from the sitemap, since the sitemap rarely lists everything that receives traffic.

Rollback is part of the price

We keep the old environment running until the new one has been stable for a week. A lowered TTL before the switch means a rollback takes minutes if a certificate, a form or a mail record misbehaves.

That safety net is not an optional extra. A migration quote without it is a quote for a one-way move.

What is not a migration cost

A new design, rewritten copy, new features and a platform rebuild are separate projects. Moving a site preserves what exists; changing it at the same time makes faults impossible to attribute.

Details that make a move quote precise

Send the current host, the platform, whether the domain also carries business mail, the number of pages and products, and where the registrar login lives. Mention any subdomain, booking tool or integration that reads the same domain.

Choosing the destination before the quote

Shared hosting, a managed server and static delivery suit different sites, and the choice changes both the migration work and the monthly bill. Settling it first keeps the quote honest, because a move to static delivery is not the same job as a like-for-like server swap.

What happens in the week after

We watch error logs, form deliveries, mail flow and search coverage. Most post-move faults appear there within days, while the old environment is still available to fall back on.

Send the host, the domain and the mail setup

Write to [email protected] with the current host, the platform, whether email shares the domain and where it is registered, or send the same on WhatsApp.

If a previous move is half-finished and mail or redirects are broken, call contact us before cancelling the old account.

Frequently Asked Questions
A brochure site moving host is quoted starting from Rs 4,999, including the staging copy, DNS and email records, a redirect map and a week of checks. Shops, member areas and multi-site setups are quoted from the inventory.
Recreating MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records is included. Mailbox subscriptions and renewals stay with their providers, and we do not resell them.
Because every address that changes needs its own destination. A small map is checked by hand, while a large one needs a crawl, pattern rules and an exception review to avoid sending everything to the home page.
With a lowered TTL and a tested staging copy, the visible downtime is usually minutes. Sites with live checkout sometimes pause sales deliberately for a short window rather than risk a half-completed order.
The old environment stays running for a week, so a rollback is possible while the fault is diagnosed. That fallback is built into the fee rather than sold as an extra.
No. Hosting, domain renewal and certificates are supplier costs. We help choose the plan and configure it, but the subscription is billed to you directly.
Yes, but it is scoped after a code review. Hard-coded hostnames, scheduled jobs and third-party allowlists usually need changes that a settings-only migration cannot make.
Some will, slowly, once the missing 301s are found. Others do not, which is why the map is built from a crawl before the move rather than from search console after it.
A small site is usually planned in a week and switched in an evening. Larger installations take longer in planning, not in downtime, because the cutover window stays short either way.
