Website Migration

Website Migration Services in India (2026)

A website migration is mostly sequencing. The files and database copy is the easy part; what breaks is the email record nobody remembered, the redirect that was never mapped, and the licence tied to the old domain. Move in the right order and the site is down for minutes rather than a weekend.

Share your requirement, current setup, and expected timeline. We will help you scope the right service approach quickly.

Website Migration

Most migrations fail on the second day, not the first. The site loads, then someone notices enquiries are not arriving, or a Google result points at a 404, or the shop cannot send order confirmations. Those are planning gaps, and they are avoidable.

The four things that actually break

Files and databases copy predictably. What goes wrong is everything around them: DNS records, business email, redirects from old URLs, and anything licensed or hard-coded to the old host.

We treat those four as the migration, and the file copy as the step that happens in between.

The testing checklist before cutover
01
Home page, a category, a product and a checkout or enquiry form
02
Login, password reset and any member area
03
A test email in and out, plus a form submission reaching the inbox
04
Old URL redirects returning 301, not 404
05
Certificate valid on both hostnames, no mixed content
06
Cron jobs and scheduled exports running on the new host
Inventory before the move

List what the site depends on: the CMS and its plugins, the PHP or Node version, cron jobs, scheduled exports, payment gateway allowlists, SSL certificates, and the mailboxes that share the domain.

The inventory is also where you find the forgotten subdomain that runs a booking tool, which nobody remembers until it stops resolving.

Email belongs in the plan, not in the aftermath

Business email often shares the domain being moved. MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records have to be recreated at the new DNS provider before the nameservers change, or mail stops and enquiries vanish silently.

We copy the records, verify them with a test message in both directions, and only then change the nameservers. If mail is staying with the old provider, the records still need to survive the move intact.

DNS: time-to-live and the cutover window

Lowering the TTL a day before the switch means the change propagates in minutes rather than hours. That single step is what allows a rollback to work on the same evening.

We switch during a quiet window, verify the site on the new host first through a temporary hostname, and keep the old environment running until the new one has been stable for a week.

Preserving rankings with a redirect map

Every URL that exists today and will not exist tomorrow needs a 301 to its closest equivalent. That includes old blog paths, paginated pages, product URLs and the www/non-www variant.

We crawl the current site, build the map, apply it on the new host, and check that the sitemap and canonicals point at the final domain rather than the temporary one.

Shops, bookings and anything with sessions

An ecommerce migration has three extra hazards: orders placed during the switch, customer sessions that do not survive a domain change, and integrations with gateways and logistics providers that use allowlisted IPs or domains.

Pausing checkout for a few minutes is usually safer than pretending the move is invisible. We schedule it, announce it, and verify a test order end to end afterwards.

Certificates and the HTTPS switch

A new host needs a certificate before traffic arrives, and it must cover the exact hostname, including the www variant. Mixed-content warnings after a move usually come from assets referenced with the old absolute URL.

The week after

Watch error logs, search console coverage, form submissions and mail delivery. Most post-migration problems show up there within days, and they are cheap to fix while the old environment is still available.

When a rebuild beats a migration

If the site is on an abandoned CMS, the theme is unmaintained and the content model needs changing, moving it preserves the problem. We say so before quoting, because a migration should not be sold as a rescue.

What to send before a migration quote

Send the current host, the platform and version, whether email shares the domain, the number of pages and products, and where the domain is registered. Those five answers decide the plan and the cutover window.

What a website migration costs

Migrations start at Rs 4,999 for a brochure site moving host with DNS, email records and a redirect map. Shops, member areas and multi-site installations are quoted after the inventory, because the testing list grows with them.

New hosting, domain renewals and certificates are separate. Hosting plans start at Rs 250 a month for shared and Rs 999 for a managed VPS.

What the migration scope includes

  • Dependency inventory and a written cutover plan
  • Staging copy tested through a temporary hostname
  • DNS, email records and certificate verified before the switch
  • 301 map for existing URLs, plus sitemap and canonical checks
  • Cutover during a quiet window with a rollback path
  • One week of post-move monitoring

Before the move starts

Confirm who controls the domain registrar, whether email moves with the site, and which URLs must keep working. The registrar is the most common blocker, because the client often does not have the login.

Tell us where the site lives now

Write to [email protected] with the current host, platform, whether email shares the domain and where the domain is registered, or send the same on WhatsApp.

If a move is already half-done and mail or redirects are broken, call 7840002466. Recovery is usually faster than restarting the migration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Migrations start at Rs 4,999 for a brochure site, covering the inventory, staging copy, DNS and email records, redirects and one week of monitoring. Shops and member areas are quoted after the inventory.
A brochure site is usually down for minutes. A shop may pause checkout deliberately for a short window rather than risk orders during the switch. The cutover is scheduled, not improvised.
Not if the MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records are recreated before the nameservers change and tested in both directions. Email is planned as part of the migration, not fixed afterwards.
By mapping every existing URL to a 301, keeping the canonical host consistent, updating the sitemap, and verifying that the new host serves the same content. We crawl the old site to build the map.
Yes. The registrar or host does not change the method: inventory, staging copy, DNS and email records, redirects, then cutover. We only need access to the accounts.
It stays live for a week after cutover as a rollback path, then is cancelled or kept as a staging environment, depending on what you prefer.
Usually a new one is issued by the destination host. It must cover the exact hostname including www, and mixed-content warnings after a move are checked before launch.
A brochure site takes two to four days including testing. A shop takes one to two weeks, mostly for the testing list and the cutover window.
Yes, but the application's dependencies have to be inventoried first. Hard-coded paths, fixed IP allowlists and licence-bound hostnames are the usual blockers.
The current host, platform and version, whether email shares the domain, page and product counts, and access to the domain registrar.
