VPS Hosting in India (2026)
A VPS is the middle ground between a shared account and a dedicated machine: fixed CPU, memory and disk, root access, and neighbours who cannot slow your checkout down. The part that decides whether it is calm or miserable is not the virtualisation, it is who patches the operating system at eleven at night.

Most VPS trouble comes from three gaps: no patch schedule, no tested backup, and no idea which process ate the memory last Tuesday. A plan with more RAM does not fix any of them. The plans below are deliberately boring, and the management around them is the product.
What a virtual private server actually gives you
A VPS is a virtual machine with a reserved share of the host's CPU, memory and disk. You get root access, your own operating system, and the ability to install whatever the application needs. The reservation is the point: a neighbouring account cannot consume your capacity, which is exactly what happens on shared hosting during a traffic spike.
What you do not get is a dedicated physical machine. Noisy-neighbour effects are reduced rather than eliminated, and the provider's storage and network still sit underneath. For most business applications that distinction never matters; for a licence that requires physical isolation, it does.
The entry plan runs a small application, a shop with modest traffic or a handful of sites. The middle plan carries an application and its database on one machine. The largest plan is for several services, a busy database, or a build server that would otherwise fight the production site for memory.
Full specifications sit on the plan pages: 2 vCPU plan, 4 vCPU plan and 6 vCPU plan. Upgrades are applied in place, so the IP address and the data stay where they are.
- Starter:: 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 25 GB NVMe · Rs 999 per month · One small app or a few low-traffic sites
- Growth:: 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe · Rs 1,799 per month · App plus database, moderate traffic
- Busy:: 6 vCPU, 16 GB RAM, 150 GB NVMe · Rs 3,499 per month · Several services or a heavy database
Disk type matters more than most spec sheets admit. A database on slow shared storage waits on input and output no matter how many cores you buy, and the symptom looks like a slow application rather than a slow disk.
All three plans use NVMe-backed storage. If your workload is genuinely storage-heavy, the right answer is usually a bigger plan or a separate database service, not more compression.
Snapshots are for undoing a bad change quickly. Backups are for recovering when the server itself is gone. They are different jobs, and a provider that offers only one of them is selling half a plan.
We keep backups outside the VPS account, on a schedule set by how often content changes, and we restore one before handover. If a restore has never been performed, the backup is a hope rather than a plan.
A new server with a public address is scanned within hours. The minimum is key-only SSH, a firewall that allows only what the application needs, automatic security updates, and a non-root user for deployments.
Beyond that: TLS everywhere, secrets outside the repository, a staging copy for changes, and a log trail that survives a reboot. None of it is exotic, and all of it is cheaper before the first incident.
Vertical scaling is a reboot and a bigger plan, and it works until the largest plan is not enough. Horizontal scaling needs the application to be stateless, sessions to live outside the machine, and files to sit on shared storage rather than on local disk.
When a workload needs managed databases, autoscaling or multiple availability zones, the honest move is a cloud account rather than a bigger VPS. We say that before you buy the largest plan, not after.
The move is mostly sequencing: provision the machine, match the runtime versions, copy files and database, test on a temporary hostname, lower DNS time-to-live, switch in a quiet window, then watch logs and mail for a week.
The usual casualties are a forgotten cron job, an application hard-coded to the old path, and mail records left pointing at the previous host. A written checklist catches all three.
Hosting is a promise about the worst day, not the average one. Monitoring should watch disk, memory, response time and certificate expiry, and it should alert a person who can act rather than an inbox nobody reads.
Our managed plans include business-hours support with an emergency path, and the escalation steps are written down. If you need round-the-clock cover, that is a separate arrangement and we will not imply otherwise.
Send the application and its runtime, expected monthly traffic, database size and growth, whether email moves with the site, and who will handle application updates. Those five answers decide the plan and whether managed is worth the difference.

What VPS hosting costs and what the fee includes
Plans start at Rs 999 a month. That covers the virtual machine, NVMe storage, a public IPv4 address, the control panel for reboots and reinstalls, and the managed layer described above. Provider bandwidth beyond the plan allowance, licences and paid control panels are billed separately.
The full breakdown, including what changes the price, is in web hosting cost.
Why the cheapest VPS is rarely the cheapest decision
An unmanaged plan at a lower monthly rate usually converts into paid hours later: a patch missed, a disk full at midnight, a backup that was never configured. The comparison is not plan price against plan price, it is plan price against the cost of the first outage.
Checks before you commit to a plan
Confirm the runtime version the application needs, whether its database can live on the same machine, how much disk growth a year of uploads will add, and whether the site's email moves with it. Those four answers decide the plan more reliably than a benchmark score.

Tell us what runs on the server
Write to [email protected] with the application, its runtime version, current disk usage and expected traffic, or send the same on WhatsApp. The runtime version usually settles the plan in one reply.
