Inventory Management Software Cost in India
Stock software is priced by precision. Knowing that four hundred units exist is cheap. Knowing which bin, which batch and which supplier lot they came from is the actual product, and every step toward that precision has a price.

Inventory System Development Pricing
One connected partner for planning, implementation, support, and ongoing optimization around this service area.
Almost every business that asks for stock software already has stock software. It is a spreadsheet, and it works until two people edit it on the same day. The build becomes worthwhile at the point where the count, the purchase register and the sales record have to agree with each other, and the cost tracks how many locations and how many item attributes that agreement has to cover.
What each inventory module costs, and the question it answers
The ranges below are for building the module into your own system. The floor of the first row is where a single-location business can begin.
The jump from the fifth row to the sixth is the largest single step in the table, because planning is a different discipline from recording. Recording tells you what happened. Planning decides what to buy next week, and being wrong is expensive in both directions.
| Module | Indicative range | Weeks |
|---|---|---|
| Item master, batches, units and reorder levels | Rs 1,00,000 - Rs 2,20,000 | 4-6 |
| Purchase, GRN and supplier ledger | Rs 1,20,000 - Rs 3,00,000 | 5-8 |
| Bin locations, transfers and cycle counts | Rs 1,80,000 - Rs 4,50,000 | 6-10 |
| Barcode labelling, scanning and mobile stock take | Rs 2,00,000 - Rs 5,00,000 | 6-10 |
| Issue to production, WIP and consumption | Rs 2,50,000 - Rs 6,50,000 | 8-14 |
| Multi-warehouse planning and replenishment | Rs 4,00,000 - Rs 18,00,000 | 10-20 |
Two businesses can both hold four hundred SKUs and need very different systems.
A retailer needs one unit of measure per item, one location and a reorder point. A distributor needs cartons and loose units, a scheme that changes the effective cost, and a way to split a delivery across three customers. A manufacturer needs the same material issued to a job, consumed at a standard quantity, and the variance explained.
None of those differences appear in a feature list. All of them appear in the data model, which is where the engineering time goes.
The build is the smaller half. The larger half is the discipline the system demands: barcodes on everything, a scan at every movement, and a cycle count that someone actually performs.
Businesses that skip the discipline end up with accurate opening stock and a slow drift afterwards, and then blame the software. The honest framing is that the software made the drift visible.
The other recurring cost is integration. Stock that has to agree with a marketplace, an accounting package or a production system means a reconciliation step, and reconciliation is always quoted separately once it is understood.
Item master first, always. It is unglamorous and it is the foundation every later module depends on. Then purchase and GRN, because that is where the first disagreement between paper and system appears. Then bins, if the physical store is large enough that finding an item takes time.
Barcode scanning comes after the master is clean, not before. Scanning garbage in produces garbage out faster.
Every inventory project should name one report before it starts, and that report should be the reason the business is paying for the system at all. For a distributor it is usually stock ageing by customer and by supplier. For a manufacturer it is material variance against the standard for a completed job. For a retailer it is the gap between the physical count and the system count, by category.
If the system produces that report accurately for two consecutive months, the project has succeeded, whatever else is still on the wish list. If it does not, no number of dashboards will compensate, because the underlying records are still wrong.
Spreadsheet, packaged product or a built system
A spreadsheet is free and will survive a single location with one person entering data. It fails at the second person.
A packaged product is often the right answer for a standard trade with standard units. It becomes the wrong answer when the item master needs attributes the package does not have, or when the counting unit is not a unit at all.
A built system is justified when stock accuracy is a commercial advantage rather than an administrative chore, or when the existing workflow cannot be bent to fit a package without losing the thing that makes the business work.
What to put in the first scope
The item master with its real attributes. The purchase flow with the document that arrives from the supplier. One stock take, performed with the system, on a real day.
If those three work, everything else can follow. If the item master is wrong, no later module will recover.
