PayU Integration Cost

PayU Integration Cost in India (2026)

PayU enquiries usually come from businesses that have outgrown a startup gateway: more currencies, an enterprise agreement, or a finance team that wants tighter reporting. The integration itself is familiar; the coordination around onboarding and multi-currency is what changes the estimate.

PayU Integration Cost

With PayU, the technical work is rarely the bottleneck. Account approval, document collection and the merchant configuration behind multi-currency take longer than the code, and they sit on the critical path to launch.

What the standard scope includes

A single-currency checkout with hosted payment page, verified return handling, a webhook endpoint, refunds and sandbox testing. This is the Rs 4,999 starting scope and it applies whether the business sells services or products.

What lifts the PayU estimate
01
Multiple currencies with different settlement accounts
02
BNPL or EMI flows with their own approval states
03
Tokenisation or stored credentials for repeat customers
04
Multiple entities or brands under one merchant account
05
Integration with an existing ERP or subscription system
06
A migration from another gateway, including stored mandate migration
Where PayU differs: onboarding and merchant configuration

Enterprise accounts involve documentation, underwriting and configuration on the PayU side: payment methods enabled, settlement cycle, descriptor on the customer's statement, and sometimes a separate production credential set per environment.

We coordinate that process, prepare the technical documents the account team asks for, and test in sandbox while approval runs, so launch does not wait on paperwork that could have started earlier.

Multi-currency and cross-border settlement

Accepting international cards means a currency decision, a pricing decision and a settlement decision. The integration has to send the right currency and amount, display a clear conversion to the customer, and record what was actually settled.

Refunds across currencies are the part that surprises finance teams: the refunded amount and the settled amount rarely match once conversion is involved, so the ledger needs both figures.

BNPL, EMI and the extra state they add

Buy-now-pay-later and EMI flows introduce a financing decision before payment. The order can be approved, declined or partially approved, and each outcome has a different next step in the application.

Those states have to be visible to support, because the customer's question is about their EMI, not about the gateway.

Webhook verification and idempotency

The same discipline as any gateway: verify the signature before parsing, record the event identity, and make a repeat delivery harmless. PayU's event names differ from other providers, so a port from another gateway needs the mapping checked line by line.

Reconciliation with a settlement cycle

Enterprise accounts often settle on a negotiated cycle, which makes the reconciliation report more important, not less. Fees, taxes, refunds and chargebacks all appear as separate lines.

We build the import and match, and leave the accounting entries to your finance team with the data they need.

Timeline

A single-currency checkout takes one to two weeks. Multi-currency with settlement reporting takes three to four. An enterprise migration with stored mandates and ERP integration runs five to eight weeks, with onboarding as the usual source of delay.

What our fee does not include

PayU's transaction pricing, settlement fees, chargeback fees, GST and any account-level charges are billed by PayU. We do not resell them and do not quote their rates, because they are negotiated and change.

What to send before a PayU quote

Send the currencies you need, whether EMI or BNPL is required, which systems must receive settlement data, and whether an existing gateway is being replaced. The last one decides whether stored mandates need migrating.

What PayU integration costs, in short

A single-currency checkout starts at Rs 4,999. Multi-currency settlement, BNPL states and gateway migration are separate modules, because each adds reporting and testing beyond the payment page.

PayU's own charges are billed to your merchant account. We do not publish what PayU charges.

Before the PayU build starts

Confirm the merchant account status, the currencies required and whether existing mandates must move. Starting onboarding early is the single biggest schedule saving on a PayU project.

Send the currencies and the account status

Write to [email protected] with the currencies you accept, whether an existing gateway is being replaced and the merchant account status, or send the same on WhatsApp.

If onboarding has stalled, call 7840002466. The blocker is usually a document or a configuration question rather than the integration itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
A single-currency checkout starts at Rs 4,999. Multi-currency settlement, BNPL flows and migration from another gateway are quoted separately, because each adds states to test and reporting to build.
The code is comparable. The difference is onboarding and multi-currency: enterprise accounts need documentation, merchant configuration and settlement reporting, which take time rather than lines of code.
Order creation, hosted checkout, verified returns, a signature-checked webhook, refunds and sandbox tests. Onboarding coordination is included; merchant fees are not.
It depends on whether the provider supports mandate migration and whether the customer consent records are complete. It is scoped as a separate module with its own testing.
One to two weeks for single currency, three to four with multi-currency settlement reporting, and five to eight weeks for an enterprise migration with stored mandates and ERP integration.
We prepare the technical documentation and coordinate with your account team. Approval and underwriting remain PayU's decision, so starting early matters more than any code change.
The refund and the settlement are recorded as separate figures, because conversion means they rarely match. Finance gets both, and support can explain the difference.
It helps for higher-ticket consumer purchases and adds approval states the application must display. If your average order value is low, the extra flow rarely pays for itself.
The currencies required, whether EMI or BNPL is needed, which systems consume settlement data, and whether an existing gateway is being replaced.
