A carton may be received whole and broken for a retailer order the same day. The system should hold the carton, the loose units and the breakage as separate quantities under one SKU.

Receiving should check the purchase order, the invoice, the batch and the quantity before the stock is accepted. A short delivery should create a debit note, not a silent adjustment.

A loose unit should carry the same batch as the carton it came from. Mixing batches in one bin defeats expiry control.

FEFO, first expiry first out, matters more than FIFO in food and pharma. The pick list should direct the picker to the batch closest to expiry, not the carton nearest the door.

A near-expiry report should reach the sales team while there is still time to push the stock. A report that arrives after the expiry date is a write-off notice.

A stock transfer between godowns or to a super-stockist should move as a document, with an in-transit status, not as two separate adjustments.

The transporter's proof of delivery should close the transfer and update the destination stock.
