Most “upcoming AI model” pages invent dates. This one does not. It separates what a vendor has confirmed, what reporters have said, and what has no credible source at all.

Last checked: 7 November 2026. If a claim has no source, it is not on this page.

For what is already available, see latest AI models in 2026. For the current head-to-head, see the AI model comparison.

What is confirmed

Claude Mythos 5.1 access

Anthropic confirmed that Claude Mythos 5.1 is the same model as Fable 5.1, with fewer safeguards for vetted cybersecurity and life-science work. Access runs through the Cyber Verification Program and the Life Sciences Verification Program, starting with US organisations.

That is a release, not a rumour. The Claude Mythos 5.1 guide covers who can get it.

Enterprise Frontier Safeguards

EFS stores customer data in cloud infrastructure controlled by the customer rather than Anthropic, while keeping the misuse detection that normally requires data access. It is rolling out in phases to enterprise customers, and until it arrives eligible customers can use Fable 5.1 with zero data retention.

For Indian businesses with data-residency requirements, this is the more important announcement of the quarter. It is covered in AI and the DPDP Act.

EU AI Act watermarking

Anthropic added an invisible watermark to outputs from models released after 2 August 2026, and is rolling out a detection API to regulators, media, researchers and enterprises with compliance obligations. Other major providers signed the same code of practice in July 2026.

What is only reported

Google teased Gemini 4 before Gemini 4 Argon appeared in public catalogues on 13 October 2026. Argon is listed at $2 / $10 with a 1.05M context window. Further Gemini 4 variants are plausible, but no names, dates or prices have been confirmed.

Treat “Gemini 4 Pro” or “Gemini 4 Ultra” claims without a vendor source as speculation.

What has no credible source

There is no confirmed GPT-7, no announced Claude Fable 6, and no published date for the next OpenAI flagship. Anyone publishing a specific date for those is guessing.

OpenAI’s recent cadence is fast but irregular: GPT-6 Astra on 4 September, GPT-6 Luna and Sol on 22 September, GPT-6.1 Sol on 29 September, GPT-6.1 Terra on 26 October. A next release is likely. A date is not known.

Release cadence by vendor

Looking at the last six months is a better guide than any leak.

VendorRecent releases
OpenAIGPT-6 Astra (4 Sep), GPT-6 Luna and Sol (22 Sep), GPT-6.1 Sol (29 Sep), GPT-6.1 Terra (26 Oct)
AnthropicFable 5 (9 Jun), Opus 5 (24 Jul), Fable 5.1 (1 Sep), Opus 5.5 (22 Sep), Sonnet 5.5 (28 Sep), Haiku 5.5 (7 Oct)
GoogleGemini 3.5 Flash (19 May), Gemini 3.6 Flash and 3.5 Flash-Lite (21 Jul), Gemini 4 Argon (13 Oct)

The pattern: minor point releases every few weeks, a new generation every few months, and price cuts attached to most of them.

How this page stays accurate

  1. Every claim has a status and a source date.
  2. A reported model is never described as confirmed.
  3. If a date slips, the page is corrected rather than left stale.
  4. The page is rechecked weekly and after any major launch.

FAQ

When is GPT-7 coming out?

There is no confirmed date. OpenAI has not announced GPT-7, and no credible report gives a date as of 7 November 2026.

When is Gemini 4 coming out?

Gemini 4 Argon is already listed, since 13 October 2026. Other Gemini 4 variants have been teased but not confirmed.

Is Claude Mythos 5.1 a new model?

It is the same model as Claude Fable 5.1, released with fewer safeguards for vetted security and life-science teams.

Why do some sites publish exact release dates?

Because release-date pages attract traffic. Unless the vendor has announced the date, treat it as a guess.

Next step

If you are planning around a model release, the safer move is to build against what exists today and keep the model layer swappable. Our AI model comparison and model costs guide cover that design. For help scoping the work, contact 24Bit System.
