Garment Software Cost

Textile and Garment Software Cost in India (2026)

A garment unit does not sell one product; it sells the same product in six sizes and four colours, cut from fabric that shrinks at a rate nobody recorded. Software in this trade has to carry a style-and-size matrix through cutting, stitching and finishing without losing a single piece, and the price follows how many of those hands the system has to follow.

Textile and Garment Manufacturing Software Cost

Two units sewing the same shirt can need very different systems. One runs a single line for one buyer and needs little more than issue and output; the other runs ten styles a week across four job-work vendors and needs the fabric consumption per style to be right before the first metre is cut.

Garment software cost by production stage in 2026

Each stage below can go live separately. Most units start with style masters and cutting, because fabric is the largest cost and the first place leakage appears.

A single-unit stitching factory with one or two buyers normally spends Rs 6,00,000 to Rs 12,00,000 for styles, cutting, line output and finishing. Export houses with job work across vendors and style-level costing land in the upper two bands.

What makes a garment build expensive
01
The size matrix. Every record multiplies by size and colour, so a single order line becomes twenty-four rows that all have to reconcile.
02
Fabric consumption. Markers, wastage allowance and shrinkage decide the cost per piece, and an approximate consumption figure hides the loss until the season closes.
03
Bundle tracking. Following a bundle from cutting to packing needs either barcode tickets or disciplined manual entry at each table.
04
Job work. Fabric sent out to a stitching or dyeing vendor, received back short, is the hardest reconciliation in the trade.
05
Buyer compliance. Audit reports, testing certificates and packing lists per shipment are documentation work, not screens.
06
Costing method. Style-wise actual cost requires capturing every issue, receipt and rejection against the same style code.
Where garment systems fail first

Style master discipline is the usual failure. If two departments create the same style with a different code, cutting and finishing never reconcile and the cost report becomes an argument. The fix is a single approval gate for new styles, enforced by the system rather than by a circular.

The second failure is silent job-work loss. Fabric issued to a vendor is invisible unless the system treats the vendor's premises as a stock location with an ageing report. Units that never build that view usually discover the loss at the annual stock count.

What the unit pays to keep running

Hosting for a mid-sized unit costs Rs 20,000 to Rs 60,000 a year. Barcode printers and tickets are consumables with a real monthly cost, and handheld scanners at the cutting and finishing tables are capital purchases. Support after warranty usually covers buyer-specific report changes and season-start configuration.

Payment plan for a garment project

Styles and cutting first, then line output, then job work, then costing. Keep the last instalment until one full style completes from cutting to packing with consumption reported against the marker.

Start at cutting or at stitching?

Cutting, in almost every case. Fabric is the biggest spend and the earliest chance to lose it. A stitching tracker on top of an untracked cutting floor records output without explaining where the material went.

What to ask a garment software vendor

Ask how a style is amended after cutting has started. Ask how a short receipt from a job-work vendor is recorded and who approves the write-off. Ask whether consumption is calculated per marker or per style average.

Send your style count and vendor map for a number

Share the number of active styles, whether job work is involved and how many buyers you ship to, at [email protected], or send the same on WhatsApp. Job-work spread predicts the effort better than machine count.

Frequently Asked Questions
Style masters, size matrices and cutting issue start near Rs 3,50,000. Line output and WIP take the project to Rs 6,00,000 to Rs 12,00,000, and job work or style-wise costing ranges from Rs 10,00,000 to Rs 30,00,000.
Yes. A unit with one buyer and a few styles needs style masters, cutting and daily output only, which sits near the bottom of the range. Job work across vendors and buyer compliance raise the figure quickly.
Style and size masters, buyer orders, cutting and issue, bundle tracking, line output, finishing and packing, reports, testing on the shop floor, deployment and handover. Barcode hardware is separate.
Consumption is defined per style and size from the marker, then compared with actual issue and finished pieces. The variance report by style and by cutting table shows whether the loss is in the marker, the cutting floor or the vendor.
Yes. Material sent out is recorded as stock at the vendor with issue, receipt, rejection and rework entries. Vendor ageing shows what has been outside the unit for too long.
It has to. Each order line expands into a size and colour grid, and every stage records against that grid. Without it, packing lists and buyer reconciliations are prepared by hand at the end of every shipment.
Styles and cutting take eight to twelve weeks, line output twelve to eighteen, job work sixteen to twenty-four, and costing twenty to thirty-two. Style master cleanup at the start is almost always the first delay.
Yes, and most units with more than twenty machines should use them. A ticket per bundle, scanned at cutting, stitching and finishing, removes the daily register and makes WIP visible without a floor walk.
You do. Source code, patterns and style history are handed over, and hosting stays in your name. There is no per-machine or per-user licence fee from us.
