Shopify ERP Integration in Noida

A Noida D2C brand can run Shopify and an ERP for years without noticing the drift. Then a return updates the storefront but not the ledger, or a failed retry creates a second sales order, and the month-end reconciliation becomes a manual investigation.

Shopify ERP Integration in Noida

Noida brands often start with Shopify because it ships fast, then add an ERP for accounting and stock. The integration is not a connector; it is a set of decisions about which system owns SKU, price, stock, customer and invoice.

The stock drift a Noida brand found at month-end

One Noida brand sold the same SKU on Shopify, a marketplace and a retail counter. The ERP received Shopify orders but not marketplace returns, so the stock figure drifted upward every month.

The storefront looked healthy. The warehouse kept finding units that the ERP said did not exist, and the accounts team reconciled invoices by hand.

The fix was not a new connector. It was an ownership rule: the ERP owns stock, Shopify owns product content, and every return must post to the ERP before the storefront quantity is released.

Cutover in Noida
01
Master data: SKUs, variants, prices, taxes and customers mapped before go-live.
02
Opening stock: a freeze and a count so the two systems start from the same number.
03
Test orders: paid, cancelled, partially fulfilled, returned and refunded.
04
Parallel run: one week of real orders with daily reconciliation.
05
Handover: ownership rules, error queue, reconciliation report and escalation.
Who owns which field

Shopify should own product content, images and merchandising. The ERP should own stock, cost, accounting and the invoice. Price can sit in either system, but one must be the master and the other must receive changes on a schedule.

Customer identity needs a rule too. A guest checkout on Shopify still needs a customer record in the ERP; matching by email alone creates duplicates when a customer uses two addresses.

Write the ownership down before the first API call. A connector built without it will copy the wrong field in both directions.

The order-to-invoice flow

A paid Shopify order becomes a sales order in the ERP, the ERP raises the invoice, the stock movement posts, and the tracking number returns to Shopify as a fulfillment. Each step needs an idempotency key so a retry does not create a second order.

Partial fulfillment and partial refunds are the hard cases. The ERP has to accept more than one dispatch against an order and more than one credit note against an invoice.

GST fields must match the invoice format the business files. A storefront that collects the wrong state or GSTIN creates a correction later.

Exceptions and reconciliation

Every integration needs a failed-message queue. An order that cannot post should be visible to a person, with the payload and the error, not silently retried forever.

A daily reconciliation compares Shopify orders and ERP invoices for the previous day. Missing, duplicated and value-mismatched records are listed with an owner.

Returns are reconciled separately because a refund in Shopify and a credit note in the ERP are different documents. The report should show both sides.

What the Noida integration does not cover

Theme development, new ERP modules, marketplace integrations, payment gateway changes and data cleansing beyond the agreed scope are separate. Shopify and ERP subscription fees are billed by the providers.
